The Art of Dressing Down

Taking a cue from Emily Blunt languishing here in Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci for May’s Vanity Fair, it is the attitude we celebrate. The peace and calm of blessed contentment. So enticingly insouciant is Ms. Blunt, radiating a blissful unawareness in the midst of falling economies and rising joblessness, one cannot help but emulate the tranquil peace of her slumbering countenance while pondering our own state of lack or limited possibilities to ever be sheathed in the folds of extravagance, have our makeup ministered by sages of beauty, or be surrounded by a coterie of beautifully coiffed young swains attending to our every whim. The moral of the fairytale: While luxury may be beyond our means, serenity remains tastefully free of tab.

Beautifully said and I couldn’t agree more. I guess you could be “sheathed” in an old chenille bathrobe and exude calm. And it isn’t that the point?
