Nature in the Raw
Golden Eagles can be up to three feet long with a wingspan of over 7 feet. A video that’s making its ways around the internet demonstrates the raw power of this amazing creature hunting for food, a process that involves throwing live goats off cliffs and then scavenging the carcass. I saw this a few days ago and held off publishing it since it’s hard to watch, particularly if you’re at all sensitive about seeing animals die. Yet, it’s nature at its most primitive. Hypnotic. As kottke pointed out “the only way this could be more fascinating is if David Attenborough were narrating.”
UPDATE: An enterprising soul has created a mashup of this heart wrenching event putting it to music, specifically opera. Genius.
