The Boss Endorses Obama
Bruce Springsteen, the iconic musician of the working-class U.S., endorsed Barack Obama yesterday, less than a week before the Pennsylvania primary, in which blue-collar voters may play a significant role in determining the Democratic nominee. “He has the depth, the reflectiveness and the resilience to be our next president,” Springsteen said in a letter posted on his website and distributed by the Obama campaign. “He speaks to the [America] I’ve envisioned in my music for the past 35 years, a generous nation with a citizenry willing to tackle nuanced and complex problems, a country that’s interested in its collective destiny and in the potential of its gathered spirit, a place where ‘nobody crowds you, and nobody goes it alone.’ ”

Springsteen needs to stick to his day job. Will his coming out party for Obama in any way sway the Democratic primary or the general election come November? Two words. Absolutely not! Didn’t he support Kerry in 2004? Much good it did for Kerry, huh?
I recently discovered this site and find myself looking forward to it each time I log onto my computer. As for the Boss, I’m agreeing with Matt. If we want his opinion, we’ll ask. But to come out and tell us how he feels about a certain candidate is egotisical on his part. Like what he thinks matters to the rest of us. This from a Springsteen fan.
