Thanks to essays & effluvia for bringing back one of the cultural landmark high’s of the sixties: the Beatles first appearance in America on the Ed Sullivan Show, February 9, 1964. (10 minutes, 34 seconds) {I daresay the unabashed enthusiasm and innocence of this crowd would most notably be mocked in today’s snarkier times}.
