The Revolutionary Eyeborg
Artist Neil Harbisson suffers from achromatopsia — complete color blindness. Having recently been fitted with a head-mounted camera called an Eyeborg that identifies 360 colors and translates them into sounds that Harbisson hears in an earpiece, he can now hear the hues he cannot see. “When I paint it is as if I am composing music on a canvas ” said Harbisson, whose first exhibition is due to arrive in London in April, after opening in Barcelona.
