Unpardonably Bad Taste
We have frequently featured the work of Bert Stern, one of the most iconic photographers of our time in the pages of EA in the past: EA 8/18/07; EA 9/18/07; EA 10/28/07 and EA11/02/07.
Yet New York Magazine and Bert Stern’s recent photo shoot of Lindsay Lohan recreating the late Marilyn Monroe exactly as it was shot by Stern in 1962 at the Hotel Bel-Air (collectively known as “The Last Sitting”) is the ultimate in bad taste only serving to underscore how pitifully inferior Lohan is compared to Monroe. You can see photos of Monroe as shot by Stern in our archive, as noted above, but for editorial and ethical reasons, we have chosen not to publish Lohan here. They can be found here, with more thumbnails here.
Unlike some movie remakes which can be surprisingly fresh and original, and recreations like Vanity Fair’s occasional forays into staging great cinematic moments with current actors impersonating screen greats of old, this is an embarrassment and an insult to all who participated. Hopefully, this will indeed be “The Last Sitting.” [ARTICLE][via link]
