‘The Wire’ Isn’t Going Quietly
Razor-Sharp, Babe-Free `Wire’ Takes Parting Shots at Press, Politicians “The Wire,” which began its fifth and final season on Jan. 6, will not depart quietly, creator David Simon promises.
The Baltimore-based drama, airing on HBO Sunday nights at 9 p.m. New York time, is addictive due to its stunningly realistic portrayal of contemporary urban life, warts and all, emphasis on the warts.
“…In contrast to dramas such as “Law & Order,” the dialog is gritty and often obscene while the babe count is nearly nonexistent.
