Likeability is Key in Presidential Race

Issues always come in a dismal last.”

Out of Reuter’s, the sobering realization that politics is just as it’s always been — another variation on ‘American Idol’ with personality and likeabity determining the winner: “Most Americans don’t follow politics very closely. Most people don’t really know where these candidates stand on these various issues except in a very general sense.” {Reminded repeatedly that we get the leadership we deserve, why is it no one seems to be listening?}

“In one measure of likeability, a higher percentage of Democratic voters associated the terms “friendly” and “down to earth” with Sen. Barack Obama than with Sen. Hillary Clinton or John Edwards, according to a Pew Research survey in September.” {Weren’t those the very qualities George Bush was elected on?}
