Boomer Course Closes Generation gap
Interesting read out of USA Today on a course being taught at American University entitled “Talking About My Parents’ Generation: Understanding Baby Boomers and How They’ve Shaped Us.” The course looks at the history, psychology and sociology of the generation born between 1946 and 1964 through an amalgam of images, books, readings of the time, YouTube videos and clips from seminal movies, television shows and commercials. Fascinating to study the coursework lists and see the books that shaped the times like On the Road, Jack Kerouac and Bonfire of the Vanities, Tom Wolfe or movies, “Coming Home,” “Rebel Without a Cause” and “The Graduate.”
