Vintage Glamour; Eco Sensibility

For years, I’ve worn a vest made out of patches of silk taken from old kimonos. With “recycled fashion” being all the rage these days, one company has seized on the idea of creating stunning ties made of old kimonos proving that eco really can be chic. While there’s only one version to view online, there is a huge array of source material since kimonos are like people — each one is different with variations in colours, patterns, textures and materials creating a unique and one-of-kind tie for the stylishly creative.

This Christmas, why not get your guy or yourself for that matter, to go glam in a vintage kimono tie? I know this fashionista will be sporting one, happy in the knowledge that I’m helping save the environment while doing it.

  1. Great gift idea. Now, if I were only back in an environment where ties were commonplace.
