What better time than now, Autumn in New York, to get over to the Met for the “Abstract Expressionism and Other Modern Works: The Muriel Kallis Steinberg Newman Collection,” or what the NY Times called a “spine-tingling exhibition.” Besides, who needs an excuse to pay homage to what connoisseurs sometimes call “beyond category.” Willem de Kooning’s “Attic.” There is nothing else like it in any New York museum.
