The Ride of a Lifetime

Lamborghini revealed its hottest new ride, the Reventon, at the Frankfurt Auto Show and like all things rare and desirable, the Italian carmaker made just one of the 1 million euro (tax not included) cars so far and plans another 20 for 2008. One can only guess at the identity of the first buyer.
They’ve already been ordered and down payments banked, so if you’ve procrastinated dear Aesthete, too bloody bad. Each Reventon is a symbol of extreme exclusivity, even by Lamborghini’s standards.
The name itself, like the company, has a storied history. Reventon was a fighting bull, owned by the Don Rodriguez family and is famous for killing famed bullfighter Felix Guzman in 1943. That pretty much tells it all.
“The virtual needle on that virtual speedometer moves from the number 0 to the number 62 in a scant 3.4 seconds and doesn’t stop moving until it hits the number 211,” Autocar blog reported. “
Is the Reventon excessive? Yes, in every way.

The true test of Reventon’s success will be how soon it shows up glamorously posed in a hip hop music video. The Cadillac Escalade is so over, and the Bentley Continental convertible is on the brink of done-ness. Think Kanye will spring the coin?
